## Decimals

We started the year with decimals. We did adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals. It was a little boring for me because I already knew how to do most of it but when we learnt the lattice method, things got really interesting. The lattice method is below.

## Arcade

After we finished with decimals, we started a new project. We watched a video called Caine's Arcade. It's about a boy who is 9 and he built an arcade out of cardboard behind his dads auto shop. At first he had no customers but then one guy came and started to play his games. He later found out that he was the only customer so he posted on Facebook about it and he got a whole mob of people to come to the arcade. Caine's dad took him to a real arcade and they played there for hours Then he took him out for dinner. All this while people were coming to Caine's arcade and decorating. There was lots of people and they all played at his arcade. Below is the video.

So now as a math project we have to get in groups and make our own games. In my group we have a claw game, a slingshot game, and a basketball game. In my group there is Kalya, Avinash, Daren, and myself. We finished our arcades and other people got to play them. I don`t think anyone played the slingshot game and no one beat the basket ball game.

## Angles

Now that we are done the arcades, we started on angles. We have learnt about for angles. A right angle which is 90 degrees, acute angles which is less then 90 degrees, obtuse angle which is more then 90 degrees, the reflex angle which is more then 180 degrees, and straight angle which is 180 degrees.

## Dream Room

After learning about angles, we did a project. We had to create a model of our dream room. We had to draw a 2D sketch of it, then, come up with a scale to convert it into a model and in real life. After we got all the measurements and our scale was perfect, we made our 3D model. My model was not the best for I waited until last minute to finish my model. I don't have any pictures of the model but I will put a picture of my sketch on soon.

## Order of Operations

After the break, we started on order of operations. Order of operations is more commonly known as BEDMAS. BEDMAS stands for

Subtraction.

This is the order you want to do a long equation in. For example, 3X4+(8-4), would not be done from left to right, but starting with the brackets, if that makes sense. Also, to keep you in order, work down the page.

## Adding And Subtracting Integers

After we all got the hang of BEDMAS, we moved on to integers. What are integers?, you might ask, well I am here to tell you. An integer is a whole number. Weather that means a negative or a positive, it doesn't matter as long as it is while. This means it can't be a fraction or a decimal number. I will give you a quick lesson on how to add and subtract them.

+=Positive number -=negative number.

## Algebra

After doing the quick integer lesson, we moved onto algebra. Algebra is where you are trying to figure out a nu,ber in an equation instead of the answer. Here is an example.

7+x=10

First, you want to get the x or the variable, alone. To do this, use the opposite operation. The opposite of addition is subtraction.

7+x-7=10

However, whatever you do to one side, you most do to the other side so...

7+x-7=10-7

X=3
